BENGALURU: A three-year-old boy was crushed to death by a BMTC bus at Garepalya junction in the city on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Ayan.
The boy was staying with his aunt and on Sunday, he was returning home with her on a two-wheeler when a BMTC bus knocked down them down from behind. The boy fell down and the bus ran over him, killing him instantly.
The aunt said she had taken the boy to a hospital as he was not well. “The bus touched the handle of our scooter when the signal turned green and Ayan fell down. My 15-year-old son alerted me that Ayan had fallen and I left the scooter and ran to pick up Ayan, but the bus ran over him by then”, she said.
The Hulimavu traffic police have registered a case and arrested the bus driver.
