BMRCL begins land acquisition process for Metro Phase 3

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has started land acquisition work for the third phase of the Metro project.

The preparations have begun from JP Nagar phase-4 to Kengeri, spanning 32.15 km, and from Hosakerehalli to Kadabagere, covering 12.5 km, with two corridors.

The project encompasses 777 private properties across 1,29,745 sqkm. Following approval of the DPR, plans are under way to build stations at JP Nagar 5th phase, Kamakya Theatre and Hosakerehalli.

The BMRCL is proceeding to acquire additional land for the construction of these three stations. The Metro authorities will soon request the property owners to hand over the land to the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board.
