B’luru NIA court convicts 4 in terror funding case, awards 7 years jail term

BENGALURU: The NIA special court here has convicted four people in case of terror funding by resorting to dacoity and sentenced them to seven years in prison. The convicted are Kador Qazi, Mustafizur Rehman, Adil Sheik and Abdul Kareem.

The NIA had arrested Habibur Rehma in connection with the Burdwan blast case in West Bengal who confessed to visiting Chikkabanavara in Bengaluru during May. The NIA then informed the Soladevanahalli police who arrested two people residing in Chikkabanavara.

During questioning, it came to light that the gang was committing dacoities in K R Puram, Kothanur, Attibele and surrounding place to fund terror activities. The NIA had filed chargesheet against 11 people in the case.
