BENGALURU: In a continued effort to make art more accessible and to enrich public spaces with cultural experiences, Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport / KIAB) hosted a special edition of Art Park outside Terminal 2. Reinforcing the airport’s identity as a destination in itself, the event welcomed passengers, local residents, artists, and visitors alike to experience live art in an open, inclusive space.

Founded by renowned artist SG Vasudev, Art Park is a long-standing initiative that has brought artists and communities together for over 75 editions across the city. Known for its informal, inclusive atmosphere, the platform encourages engagement with contemporary art in everyday settings — making it more approachable, affordable, and part of the public experience.

At Bengaluru Airport, Art Park was reimagined as a community-driven experience. Artists painted live, exchanged ideas with passers-by, and explored the role of art in society. The space encouraged interaction giving travellers and visitors a moment of reflection, creativity, and connection.

Speaking on the initiative, Hari Marar, MD & CEO of Bangalore International Airport Limited, added, “We’ve always believed that BLR Airport should be more than just a place you pass through, it should be a place you connect with. Art is one of the ways we bring that vision to life. With Art Park, we’re opening our spaces to local creativity and inviting the community to engage with the airport — whether you’re flying or simply visiting. Through shared cultural experiences like these, we hope to inspire, engage, and enrich every journey at our airport.”

Bengaluru Airport has long embraced art as a pillar of its identity, most notably through the T2 Art Programme, which showcases over 210 artworks by 67 artists from around the world, including Vasudev himself, celebrating Karnataka’s cultural heritage and contemporary voices.

With initiatives like Art Park, Bengaluru Airport hopes to offer travellers and visitors a more meaningful experience — where the journey begins not just at check-in, but in a shared connection to art, community, and culture.
