The blind Indian gaur has got separated from its herd.

HASSAN: A visually imapired Indian gaur created some anxious moments when it entered a homestay at Devarunda village in Sakleshpur taluk on Monday. The blind gaur has got separated from its herd and has been wandering around the village.

Locals informed the Forest Department that the gaur was in human habitation and Range Forest Officer (RFO) Hemanth and staff arrived at the village. After observing the animal for some time, the officials said that if necessary, the gaur will be caught and treated. They advised the locals not to get anxious and told them that the bison could attack if proved by people.

Local residents say that at least 50 Indian gaur have been roaming around in the area and added this has only added to their worries as elephants also abound in the taluk.
