BJP woman activist arrested for using ‘offensive’ language against CM’s family on Twitter

BENGALURU: The High Grounds police have arrested a BJP activist on charges of using offensive language against the Congress party and the CM’s family while raising questions regarding the case of the mobile phones being planted the Udupi college washroom to secretly film girls.

A complaint was registered at the High Grounds police station against Shakuntala, who had used disparaging words on Twitter against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Based on this, she was arrested by the police.

In the incident, three Muslim girl students allegedly kept a mobile phone in the women’s washroom of a paramedical college to secretly film other girls. This case has attracted a lot of attention across the state and the Udupi police immediately started an investigation. The mobile phones of the students have been sent to FSL for investigation.

As soon as the college management came to know about the video shooting, the students were called and the video was deleted. The college had suspended the three students. Now, the BJP has taken up the issue and has staged a protest condemning the incident.

BJP workers protested in Udupi took out a protest march from the party office to the SP’s office under the leadership of MLA Yashpal Suvarna. They are demanding an investigation by a central agency.
