BENGALURU: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday took out massive ‘Dharmasthala Chalo’ rally to condemn the slander against the pilgrim town of Dharmasthala, with over 300 cars and thousands of devotees participating.
The rally, led by Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanath, started from Kunigal Gate at 6:30 am Saturday and reached Dharmasthala by 3-4 pm.
The activists visited the Manjunatha Swamy temple and took a pledge to stand by the kshetra. They demanded that those responsible for the slander be brought to justice. The rally was held in response to a systematic conspiracy to slander of the pilgrim town of Dharmasthala, and the devotees are determined to protect the institution.
Alok Vishwanath, son of MLA S R Vishwanath, said that thousands of workers participated in the rally. He emphasized that Sanatana Dharma and Dharmasthala must be preserved. “Thousands of people have come voluntarily, and their sole purpose is to stand by Dharmasthala. We demand an end to the slander and action against those responsible. We took a pledge in front of Lord Manjunatha to always stand by Dharmasthala, no matter what”, he said.
