BENGALURU: The BJP is planning to launch a new campaign called “Chamundi Chalo” in support of Hindu rights, following the success of the “Dharmasthala Chalo” movement.
The campaign aims to assert that the Chamundi Hills in Mysuru belongs to Hindus and will feature a walk from Mysuru to Chamundi Hills. This move is seen as a counter-attack against Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who had previously claimed that the Chamundi Hills does not belong to Hindus.
The BJP’s decision to launch the “Chamundi Chalo” campaign is part of its larger strategy to assert Hindu rights and counter opposition leaders’ statements. The campaign will be led by BJP leaders B S Yediyurappa and Leader of Opposition R Ashoka, and the walk from Mysuru to Chamundi Hills is expected to be a major event showcasing the party’s commitment to Hindu causes.
The BJP aims to use the “Chamundi Chalo” campaign to further its Hindutva agenda and counter opposition narratives.
