BELAGAVI, BENGALURU: The war of words between BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and state BJP president B Y Vijayendra has continued. On Sunday, Yatnal sarcastically remarked that Vijayendra’s family is the most honest in the country and that Vijayendra is ‘as pure as gold’.  “Their family does not know what corruption is”, he taunted.

Yatnal alleged that Vijayendra has colluded with the ruling party and has obtained signatures from DK Shivakumar on several documents. He further stated that he will release documents and videos as evidence of Vijayendra’s wrongdoings. “I will release the documents regarding what Vijayendra got D K Shivakumar to sign in the well of the Vidhana Soudha. He signed 20 letters; Shall I release the video?” Yatnal warned Vijayendra.

Yatnal also claimed that Vijayendra has been involved in corrupt activities and has mentally tortured Ramesh Jarkiholi. “Injustice has done to Ramesh Jarkiholi and it is no longer a secret how Vijayendra has joined hands with someone to humiliate Ramesh. Who tortured Ramesh? Let him open up. What did Vijayendra say about GM Siddeshwar and R Ashoka? I will release proof as well”, he claimed.

In response, Vijayendra dared Yatnal to release whatever documents or videos he has without wasting time to prove his allegations. Vijayendra said Yatnal need not wait for an auspicious hour. The state BJP chief appealed to Yatnal not to behave in a way that will insult party workers.

A meeting was held at the residence of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa in Bengaluru to discuss action to be taken against Yatnal. Responding to Yatnal’s allegations, Vijayendra said, “Yatnal should release the evidence and videos against me without any delay”.

Vijayendra also stated that he does not need any alliance with the Congress party. However, he alleged that Yatnal’s actions are harming the party. “Party workers demand strict action against Yatnal. Let him join hands with ten others, I have no objection”, Vijayendra said.

He also requested that party workers should not be humiliated in the process. Vijayendra warned that if Yatnal continues to make allegations against him, he will be forced to release evidence and videos against the latter.
