BENGALURU: There seems to be an uneasy quiet in the state BJP ever since the nominations to the Legislative Council were announced.
State BJP vice-president B Y Vijayendra, who is the son of former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa was not considered for the Upper House though there was quite a buzz.
While Yediyurappa has maintained a stoic silence, other state leaders too have not called on him, leading to speculation.
Surprisingly, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai too has not visited Yediyurappa ever since his return from Davos, raising eyebrows. In fact, Vijayendra’s name was mentioned for the Council seat at ‘Cauvery’ in the presence of Yediyurappa himself. But the party bosses in Delhi decided otherwise.
Party sources indicated that the leaders have decided to leave Yediyurappa alone for some time, given that he may be sulking.
Meanwhile, Laxman Savadi called on Yediyurappa on Saturday and thanked him for his support. Savadi has been re-elected to the Legislative Council.
