BENGALURU: Former BJP MLA from Hassan, Preetham Gowda, faces the prospect of arrest in the Prajwal Revannna episode as a fresh complaint against the former MP, lodged with the cyber crime police here, mentions him along with two others.
On Tuesday, cyber crime police registered a fourth FIR naming Prajwal Revanna, Kiran, Sharat and Preetham Gowda based on the victim’s complaint that they had circulated questionable videos. Earlier, the special investigation team had arrested two aides of Preetham Gowda for circulating the videos. The SIT is now considering issuing a notice to Preetham Gowda to join the investigation.
Preetham Gowda has maintained distance from the issue over the last two months ever since the obscene video scandal broke out. His possible arrest in the case may come as an embarrassment to the BJP.
Ever since the scandal broke out, allegations have been flying thick and fast among political leaders. The family of Holenarsipur JD(S) MLA H D Revanna had blamed the Congress and Preetham Gowda’s name had also cropped up then.
