Bizman’s son assaults builder with beer bottle at hotel, escapes to Nepal, arrested

BENGALURU: The RT Nagar police have arrested the prime accused in the assault case on the chairman of Vaishnavi Builders. The accused had escaped to Nepal by taking private jet after the assault.

The injured Darshan is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

On June 10, a party was hosted by the newly-wedd celebrity couple at the Four Seasons Hotel on Ballari Road and a large crowd attended the event. At that time, businessmen Darshan and Vedant Dugar got into tussle between each other and Vedant attacked Darshan on the head with a beer bottle.

The accused Vedant Dugar has been arrested by The RT Nagar police.

While the injured Darshan was shifted to a private hospital, the accused Vedant escaped escaped from Bengaluru after committing the criminal act. He fled to Mumbai, took a chartered flight from there to Uttar Pradesh and went to Nepal by road.

In the meantime, the police had issued a lookout notice for Vedant and he was subsequently arrested by the police.

City police commissioner B Dayananda said the cause of the scuffle between the two was also revealed during the preliminary investigation. The injured businessman Darshan is the son of Govindaraju of Vaishnavi Builders while Vedant Dugar is the son of Sanjay Dugar, of VAR Facility Management Solutions Pvt Ltd. Both came across each other at the restaurant and, at that time, Darshan had left without talking to Vedant. This led to tensions between the two resulting in the attack when they met at Four Seasons Hotel. Vedant questioned Darshan why he wouldn’t talk to him when everyone else was, to which Darshan had replied saying that it was his wish. Amid the argument, Vedant attacked Darshan with a beer bottle.
