HASSAN: A group of bikers were allegedly assaulted by some locals when they were returning after visiting the tourist spot Patla Betta in Sakleshpur taluk on June 23. The incident has come to light now after a complaint was filed at the Yeslur police station.
After visiting Patla Betta, the bikers were allegedly blocked by a group of jeep and pickup truck drivers for not hiring their vehicles and instead taking the motorcycles to the top of the hill, a scenic spot. An argument ensued and the drivers allegedly assaulted the some of the bikers.

One of the bikers, Bhuvit Poojary, hailing from Dakshina Kannada, later filed a complaint following with a case has been registered against Gagan, Kiran, Nishanth and Madan. The Yeslur police have taken up further investigation.
Several tourists have complained that the Forest Department has not been monitoring tourist activities effectively at Patla Betta, leading to such skirmishes.
