BIDAR: A freak accident resulted in the death of a pedestrian and a motor rider on National Highway-65 in a village in Basavakalyan taluk of the district.
The deceased have been identified as pedestrian Gulchand Gayakwad (40) and biker Ajay (21). Both died on the spot in the horrific accident.
Gulchand was walking along the side of the road when Ajay’s bike came speeding from the opposite direction and hit him. The bike dragged Gulchand for over 500 meters before coming to a halt. As the bike stopped, it immediately caught fire.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras. A case has been registered at the Basavakalyan Traffic police station regarding the incident.
