KALABURAGI: A car belonging to Bhim Army state general secretary in Kalaburagi was set on fire late on Friday night near Shahbad Ring Road, where the car was parked outside the victim’s home. The miscreants set the car on fire and fled the scene.

Bhim Army’s state general secretary Sathish Huggi, on Saturday morning, alleged that his car was set on fire due to his active role in opposing RSS’s route march and that this was an attempt to intimidate him. “The incident occurred around 10.30 pm The miscreants also raised ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogans. The incident occurred in the University police station limits”, he said.

However, later in the day, Sathish clarified that the fire might be related to an old rivalry and that he wasn’t present at the scene when the incident occurred. He stated that his wife informed him about the fire and that some people on a two-wheeler were seen fleeing the scene.

Sathish emphasized that he didn’t accuse the RSS directly and demanded a thorough investigation to uncover the truth. A case has been registered against four people, including Sathish Huggi’s friend Rajkumar Huggi, in connection with the incident. The police have taken up further investigation.
