BENGALURU: The Bengaluru traffic police have received commendable response from the public in collecting traffic fines on the first day on Friday, collecting Rs 5.21 crore in connection with 20 lakh cases. All this in a matter of just 10 hours.
The Karnataka government announced an offer a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines across the state on all pending traffic violations in a one-time settlement scheme which is valid till February 11. On the first day, on February 3, people were stand in long queues at the Traffic Management Centre on Infantry Road to pay up the pending penalties.
How much amount collected?
- Rs 2,17, 24, 950 collected in 89,699 cases booked by ASI, PSI and PI
- Rs 3,23,68,900 collected in 1,04,273 cases through PayTM
- Rs 89,650 collected in 540 cases at Traffic Management Centre
- Rs 16,21,600 in connection with 7,316 cases at BengaluruOne centres
- Total: Rs 5,61,45,000
