BENGALURU: Poor road condition and potholes in the city are putting vehicle drivers’ lives at risk. Even a slight slip on the roads increases the chance of losing life.

In 10 months till October this year, as many as 3,985 accident cases have been reported. About 715 people have lost their lives in these accidents and more than 2,000 have suffered serious injuries.
Over 5,000 people died in road accidents due to potholes during 2018-2020The information was provided as a written reply by Home Minister Parameshwara in the Assembly. In addition, about 203 pedestrians have died. Strangely, while measures should be taken each year to reduce the accident rate, the number of accidents continues to rise steadily.

On one hand, the government’s neglect regarding road potholes is a problem; on the other, the fact that innocent lives are being lost in road accidents in Bengaluru is a matter of concern.
