BENGALURU: The central crime branch (CCB) police plan to issue summons to social media platform X for not providing information about accounts harassing Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi.
The police had earlier written to X, seeking information regarding accounts mentioned in Vijayalakshmi’s complaint, which included obscene messages and harassment. However, X refused to provide the information, prompting the police to issue a summons.
The police are taking the step as the lack of cooperation from X is hindering their investigation and making it difficult to arrest the accused. The accused had deleted their accounts after learning of the complaint, making it hard for the police to track them down.
The police now plan to approach a court to issue a summons to X and other social media platforms to provide the necessary info and cooperate with the investigation.
