BENGALURU: The city police on Thursday night raided more than 17 dance bars in different parts of the city following complaints of violation of rules, illegal activities, vulgarity and staying open beyond stipulated hours.
The raids were conducted on Club One, Ramba, Brigade Blue Overtime among others in an around MG Road, Brigade Road and Upparpet in Cubbon Park, Ashok Nagar, SJ Park and Upparpet police limits.
Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh told media persons on Friday, “We had information about illegal activities in some police limits based on which the raids were carried out. These establishments have to function as per laws, but were found to be violating them”.
Further, he said, “The station house officer have been strictly told not to allow any illegal activities in their jurisdiction. They have been told to carry out basic policing and if any illegal activities are found to be committed in any police limits, action will be taken against the respective police inspectors”.
