BENGALURU: Jolted after the murder of a young woman from Bihar at a paying guest accommodation in Koramangala by her boyfriend, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda has instructed police inspectors to collect information about all PGs in the city.
Bihar native Kriti Kumari was killed by her boyfriend on July 23 at the women’s PG in Koramangala. Following, this, the police have issued guidelines to PG owners in view of enhancing security and considering the protection of the paying guests.
Guidelines to PGs:
- CCTV cameras must be installed in PGs
- Security guards must be hired.
- Information of everyone living in PGs should be collected.
- Jurisdictional police will details of PG residents and verify them.
- All information to be uploaded on newly launched software.
- Owners must take security measures, pay attention to food quality.
- Police should collect information about PG trade licences.
- If any unauthorized PG is found, BBMP should be informed.
- If any illegal or immoral activities are noticed, the police should be informed.
- Cases should be filed in association with BBMP officials.
- Monthly inspection of PGs in each police station limits to be carried out.
- Precautions to be taken to prevent any untoward incidents.
