● Bengaluru claimed its spot as a close contender to Hyderabad, the ‘Biryani King,’ with Chicken Biryani emerging as the city’s top choice. With a whopping 7.5 million Chicken Biryani orders, Bengaluru spent over Rs 200 crores on this beloved dish, contributing significantly to the city’s 13.8 million total orders of Biryani.

● While Chicken Biryani reigned supreme, Bengaluru stayed true to its roots. The Veg Dosa followed with 5.1 million orders, proving that South Indian comfort food remains timeless.

● When it came to snacks, Bengaluru’s favorites included Chicken Roll, Chicken Nuggets, and the classic Aloo Samosa.

● Breakfast was cherished in Namma Bengaluru as it topped all cities for morning orders. Veg Dosa led with 2.5 million orders, followed by Veg Idli (1.9 million orders). Other popular dishes included Medhu Vada, Veg Pongal, Onion Dosa, and Veg Bath.

Sweet Tooth Capital of India

● If there’s one thing Bengaluru loves almost as much as its breakfasts, it’s chocolate. The city topped Swiggy’s charts for chocolate-based desserts:

o Choco Lava Cake is the city’s #1 dessert followed by Death by Chocolate Sundae and Chocolate Truffle Cake.

o Surprise Surprise! The highest order for the quickly available 10-minute Bolt delivery from the city was the mouth-watering Rasmalai!

● Bengaluru’s love for sweets shone brightly during Diwali, with one user placing an extravagant order of 70 packets of Kaju Katli worth Rs 39,999.

● On Valentine’s Day, romance was alive and well as the city topped the cake orders leaderboard with 9.8k cakes, featuring favorites like White Chocolate Cake, Dark Chocolate Cake, and Milk Chocolate Cake.

● When India clinched the T20 World Cup – A true fan from Bengaluru took the excitement to the next level, ordering a staggering 120 burgers in a single order to mark the victory.

● Food That Brings People Together – In a record-breaking group order, a Bengaluru customer placed an order worth Rs 23,000, featuring 45 items to serve 107 portions of a whole Indian affair including Chicken, Paneer and Veg Biryani, Chicken and Paneer Tikka, and other Indian delicacies. With 7,031 group orders, Bengaluru is crowned the “Group Order Guru”, ahead of Hyderabad and Mumbai.

● Shhhh! Secrets Unravelled – Bengaluru was leading at ordering through the Incognito Mode with 54,064 orders, including 7,539 of these orders being late-night cravings. The items ordered include Chicken Biryani, Chicken Fry, Chicken Burger.

● Ganesh Chaturthi: The city joined Mumbai and Pune in ordering 23,000 modaks to honor the festivities.

● New Year’s Special: The first biryani order of the year came at 4:02:52 AM, featuring the delicious Prawns Biryani.

● Bengaluru led the party scene with nearly 289,000 alcohol transactions, while romance was surely alive, with Bengaluru leading “just the two of us” reservations with 486K bookings.
