Bengaluru gets the chills due to La Nina effect

BENGALURU: Winter seems to have set in early in Bengaluru and the temperature is expected to drop significantly in the coming days. According to weather forecasts, the minimum temperature in the city may drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius, making it one of the coldest winters in recent years.

The La Nina  effect is expected to contribute to the colder temperatures this year. On November 17, the maximum temperature was  27°C and the minimum temperature was 20°C in the city. On November 18, the maximum temperature was  27.6°C and the minimum temperature was 20°C.

On November 19, the maximum temperature was 27.4°C and the minimum temperature was 19.3°C. On November 20, the maximum temperature was  27.8°C and the minimum temperature was 18.8°C. On Thursday, the maximum temperature was 27.8°C and the minimum temperature was 18°C.

Due to the Northern massive dry air advection and high pressure over Karnataka, Bengaluru is witnessing colder nights and foggy mornings from November 18 to 22. The temperature is expected to drop further, according to the weather department.
