Bengaluru East corporation engineers directed to clear 8 illegal buildings per week

BENGALURU: Clearing of unauthorised buildings is set to resume in the city. The Bengaluru East Corporation has initiated action to demolish unauthorised structures, with engineers being tasked to clear eight illegal buildings per week.

Following the formation of the Greater Bengaluru Authority, demolition drives have been intensified. Bengaluru City Corporation’s Joint Commissioner Lokhandhe Snehal Sudhakar held a coordination meeting with engineers to expedite the process.

Demolition Operative Job Role, Apprenticeships & SalaryThe Bengaluru East Corporation has been divided into eight divisions, 24 sub-divisions, and 50 wards. All executive engineers, assistant executive engineers and assistant engineers have been directed to familiarise themselves with their respective areas within a week. They should have complete information related to their division, subdivision, and ward-level engineering department.

The corporation has instructed officials to take strict action against unauthorised constructions and clear each division targeting one building per week.
