HASSAN: The Block Education Officer (BEO) of Belur taluk, Rajegowda, who is facing multiple allegations including sexual harassment, murder threats, dereliction of duty and corruption, has been suspended.
The allegations are said to be prima facie true based on a report by the Hassan Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI). The suspension order was issued by the Education Department’s Deputy Secretary Mallikarjun Ramachandrappa.
Recently, Rajegowda had an argument with local MLA H K Suresh at a taluk-level sports meet. The MLA had objected to his name not being included in the invitation letter. This led to a heated exchange between the two on the event stage. The Education Department has ordered a departmental inquiry against Rajegowda.
