Belagavi police bust drug network, arrest nine

The police seized a huge quantity of drugs and also weapons.

BELAGAVI: The CEN police have busted a drug racket with the arrest of nine people and seized about 50 kg of ganja worth about Rs 30 lakh from them. The police also seized 13 mobile phones, two cars and portable weighing scales from them.

The gang used to peddle ganja, heroin, fenny and other narcotics and intoxicants, targetting college students. They would peddle drugs in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad and also in Goa and Maharashtra. The kingping of the gang was arrested from Mumbai.

The arrested include the mastermind Ismail Saddam Babu Sayyad, Salim Soudagar, Abdul Majeed Abdul Sattar Mokkadam, Tajir Gudusab Bastawade, Prathamesh Dileep Lad, Tejas Bhimrao Vajre, Shivakumar Balakrishna Asabe, Ramzam Dastagir Jamadar, Tajib Abdul Razak Mullah and Anurag Udaykumar Yaranalkar.

Belagavi Police Commissioner Bhushan Gulabrao Borase has announced cash rewards for the CEN police team for busting the drug network.
