BELAGAVI: The CEO of the Cantonment Board, K Anand, was found dead at his official resident in the cantonment area on Saturday morning. Anand belonged to the Indian Defence Estate Services and hailed from Tamil Nadu. He had been working as the CEO of the Cantonment Board for the last one-and-half years.
On Saturday morning, when he did not open the door, the staff informed the Camp police who broke open the door to find Anand dead. Deputy Commissioner of Police (law and order) Rohan Jagadish, who visited the spot, told the media that Anand, a 2015 batch IDES officer, was in his room for the last two days and the staff, who got suspicious, informed the police.
“When the police opened the door, they found Anand dead. An autopsy will reveal the cause of death. As of now, we have no information whether it was a natural death, murder or suicide. His family members have been informed and the post-mortem examination will be conducted at the district hospital”, the DCP said.
Only on November 18, the CBI had raided the Cantonment Board office following complaints, and had questioned Anand. He was found dead in the bedroom of his official residence where he lived alone.
