BALLARI: Residents of Halakundi village in Ballari taluk were woken up late on Sunday night after stray dogs, which spotted a bear walking around, started barking loudly.
The bear had strayed into the village and was roaming near some houses when it was chased by dogs. Residents, who were awakened by the noise, went out with sticks and torches, but the bear managed to escape in the darkness. The incident was captured on CCTV camera.
Worried residents are now demanding the Forest Department that the wild bear be trapped and released safely elsewhere.
