BENGALURU: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has planned to take the legal route to end litigation over several of its properties accounting for about 11,000 acres across the city.
The BDA chairman S R Vishwanath and his team has decided to approach courts to settle property disputes as even now, pre-Independence era disputes are alive. The BDA has planned to take complete possession of its properties and end all litigation that have been going on since the time of the erstwhile City Improvement Trust Board.
The BDA has submitted a proposal regarding this to the government after it was finalised n the board meeting. They have also planned to invite farmers and settle disputes over land by offering a 40:60 sharing agreement. With this, the BDA expects thousands of crores in income.
“Through courts, we have planned to call farmers and settle the litigation over land. The government will decide on a 60:40 or 70:30 sharing ratio. After development, some of the land will be given back to farmers, and the remaining will be auctioned off to the public. Litigation over 11,000 acres of properties are in various court. We have discussed the issue in a board meeting and have already submitted a proposal regarding this to the government”, BDA Chairman S R Vishwanath added.
