BENGALURU: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has invited tenders for the Bengaluru Business Corridor project, a highly anticipated initiative aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the city. The first phase of the project spans 19.8 km from Tumakuru Road to Ballari Road and is estimated to cost Rs 3,348 crore. The BDA has invited tenders for this phase, with a completion deadline of 30 months. The land acquisition process has been completed, paving the way for the tender process to begin.

The Bengaluru Business Corridor project is part of a larger plan to develop a 65.3 km corridor connecting major roads, including Tumakuru Road, Ballari Road, Old Madras Road and Hosur Road, at an estimated cost of Rs 7,000 crore. The project will be implemented in three phases — Package 1: Tumakuru Road to Ballari Road (19.37 km); Package 2: Ballari Road to Old Madras Road (18 km); Package 3: Old Madras Road to Hosur Road (27.75 km)

The project aims to provide a signal-free route, improving traffic flow and reducing congestion in the city. The corridor will have multiple lanes, with provisions for pedestrian walkways, cycle tracks and public transport systems.

The Bengaluru Business Corridor is expected to boost economic growth, improve connectivity, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents and commuters. With the tender process under way, the project is set to become a game-changer for Bengaluru’s transportation infrastructure.
