However, if vehicles are parked on the undesignated roads, the vehicle owners will be fined. The civic body has prepared a detailed report for implementation of the smart parking systems by classifying parking spaces as ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ zones.

As per the plan, smart parking slots will be identified as follows:

Bommanahalli – 58
Dasarahalli – 104
East – 59
Mahadevapura – 50
R R Nagar -58
South – 197
West – 136
Yelahanka – 600
Total -722

A separate fee structure (per hour) has been chalked out by the Palike and finalised.

‘A’ grade roads – Rs 15 for  two-wheeler and Rs 30 for car
‘B’ grade roads – Rs 10 for two-wheeler and Rs 20 for car
‘C’ grade roads – Rs 5 for two-wheeler and Rs 16 for car

As per the BBMP tender, if  any vehicle owners park their vehicles other than in the designated spots, the vehicles will be towed away. The Palike expects Rs 124 crore of annual income from the new parking policy.
