BENGALURU: In the face of stifff opposition from citizens to feeding stray dogs in public under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits, the civic body now plans to identify certain safe spots for the purpose.
Pet lovers in the city had raised concerns over the opposition to feeding stray dogs and there were also questions raised among about where to feed stray dogs and whether citizens should should take responsibility or not.
Now, the Animal Husbandry Department of the BBMP has given some clarity saying that the BBMP is planning to identify spots for feeding stray dogs and provide nutritious food. Some measures linked to this have been lined up about feeding stray dog sand they will be displayed on notice boards at BBMP offices.
Feeding stray dogs has become a contentious issue between animal lovers and other residents. The BBMP is now trying to find a middle path by taking both groups into confidence.
