Based on a complaint, Chief Engineer (Road and Infrastructure) B S Prahlad ordered an inquiry. BBMP Executive Engineer Balaji, along with the AEE and AE, visited the spot and found that the quality of road work was poor and that specifications had not been followed.

The silt in the drain on BEL Road had not bee cleared.

According to the report, the chief engineer had ordered that before asphalting, silt should be removed from the drains so that the water flows smoothly. Instruction was given that the steel box gratings should be replaced, but this was not done, which could cause the road to deteriorate quickly.

The suspended officials are western zone Assistant Executive Engineer M C Krishnegowda and Assistant Engineer Vishakantamurthy.
