BBMP launches helplines in all zones for citizens to report dangerous trees

BENGALURU: Following the death of HR professional Akshay after a tree branch fell on him while he was riding a two-wheeler, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has now got its act together and launched helplines where citizens can inform the civic body about dangerous trees.

The helplines have been launched in all the eight zones and will receive complaints from the different Assembly constituencies regarding dangerous trees, dried up branches on roads and government land and initiate action.

In the West zone, covering Rajajinagar, Govindaraj Nagar, Malleswaram constituencies, citizens can call in-charge zonal officer Sudarshan on 9480683341 while people from Mahalakshmipuram, Gandhinagar, Chamarajpet can call Rajesh on 9449175978.

In the East zone, citizens in Shantinagar, CV Raman Nagar, Pulakeshi Nagar constituencies can call in-charge officer Nagendra on 9113530344 and residents of Shivajinagar, Hebbal, Sarvajna Nagar can call Shivanna on 9164597895.

In the South zone, residents of Basavanagudi, Vijayanagar, Padmanabhanagar can contact Chandrappa on 9480683655, residents of Chickpet, Jayanagar can call B B Meti on 9740576919, BTM Layout, H R Harish on 7676165253.

In Dasarahalli zone, citizens can contact Rajappa K N on 9448234928 while in Bommanahalli zone, Bengaluru South residents can contact Narendra Babu on 9480685399 while citizens from Bommanahalli, Anekal can call Vinay on 7760933913. In Yelahanka zone, residents of Yelahanka constituency can contact Devaraj on 9964530649 while residents of Byatarayanapura constituency can contact Muthuraj KP on 9483139438.

In Rajarajeshwari Nagar, residents can call Ravindranath on 6361903330 while residents of Yeshwantpur constituency can contact Jagadish on 9880516322. In Mahadevapura zone, residents of Mahadevapura and KR Pura constituencies can contact Chidanand on 9480685541, according to a press release.
