BBMP health wing to take over management of Indira Canteens

BENGALURU: With the Indira Canteens remaining shut, the responsibility of managing them has now been transferred from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s finance section to the health section.

People had complained about the food not being properly supplied and distributed at the Indira Canteens in the city. Earlier, BBMP’s finance section was overseeing the running of these canteens. Palike Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath has now handed over the responsibility of the Indira Canteens to the health section to improve services.

The Indira Canteens will hencefortth be managed by BBMP’s health section.

BBMP Health Section Special Commissioner Trilok Chandra has planned to appoint nodal officers to manage the Indira Canteens in the city and has also planned to ensure their proper management.
