BENGALURU: Lokayukta officials trapped a BBMP official red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from a person at the Halsuru office on Thursday. The accused Shive Gowda is the BBMP health officer in CV Raman Nagar.
According to the Lokayukta police, one Srinivas had bagged a tender for mosquito control in the area. Shive Gowda, had allegedly asked for a bribe of Rs 80,000 for it. He had already received Rs 30,000 in advance and was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta officials while taking the remaining Rs 50,000 bribe at the Halasur office.
