BBMP fixes protruding bolts, nuts of expansion joint on flyover after outrage

BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Wednesday got to fixing the bolts and nuts of an expansion joint that had popped up on the Balagangadharnatha Swamiji Flyover, also known as the Sirsi Circle flyover, after commuters vented their anger over the poor maintenance of the flyover.

The flyover connect Chamarajapet to Mysuru Road and many commuters use this flyover to travel to KR Market and other areas. Many two-wheeler riders and car drivers have faced several problems while travelling on this flyover because of the protruding bolts and nuts of an expansion joint popping up. This had also led to traffic problems because they caused punctures in several vehicles.

Traffic police can be seen installing barricades to repair the expansion joints

Earlier on Wednesday, the flyover was closed for some time to allow for maintenance, but commuters were upset over the poor maintenance. Later, the traffic police installed barricades to repair the expansion joints while traffic was allowed to move.
