BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officers and employees’ welfare association have planned to organise a Kashi Utsav and Kannada Rajyotsava programme in Varanasi on November 11, 12 and 13.
Around 1,300 BBMP officials and other employees have planned to visit Varanasi to take part in the Kashi Utsav and Kannada Rajyotsava programme organised by the BBMP. A year ago, all the employees and officials had booked train tickets by paying Rs 2,000. Around 800 employees and their family members will travel by rail, and the government itself will make arrangements for the travel.
Former Chief Minister S M Krishna, and celebrities like Shilpa Shetty and Tara will also participate in the programme. Amrit Raj, the association president, met Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and extended an invitaton her to participate in the programme and she is said to have responded positively.
