BENGALURU: The BBMP Employees’ Welfare Association has written a letter to the BBMP Commissioner, requesting that the pressure on revenue department officials due to e-Khata be reduced. The association has stated that the officials are facing an increased workload due to issuance of e-Khata.

The association has stated that the officials are facing an increased workload due to e-Khata issuance. The Special Commissioner (Revenue) should be given sufficient time to properly verify the documents, as hundreds of applications are being received daily for obtaining Khata certificates through the e-Asthi system, the letter said.

The association said the staff are pressured to dispose of the applications on the same day. The association has also demanded that online meetings before and after work hours be stopped and that staff be provided with training. Higher officials should be prevented from using abusive language against staff, it noted.

The association has warned that if their demands are not met, they will go on a mass leave without prior notice. The BBMP revenue department officials are currently under pressure due to the mandatory implementation of e-Khata in Bengaluru, it said.

Meanwhile, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has taken initiatives to improve the performance of SSLC students. To achieve this, the BBMP has issued necessary instructions to the Education Department.

BBMP’s Education Department Special Commissioner Preeti Gehlot has directed teachers to conduct special classes for SSLC students. Currently, 7,396 students are studying in 33 BBMP-run high schools. Of these, 3,148 are boys and 4248 are girls.

Ahead of the upcoming SSLC exams, the BBMP has instructed all its schools to conduct special classes twice a day in the morning and evening, to improve results.
