BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Plaike (BBMP) is constructing a Jagalikatte at Anand Rao Circle under the Amruth Nagrothana scheme, and around Rs 20 lakh has been released under the scheme.

The construction work of Jagalikatte in Anand Rao Circle is in  progress and will soon be open to the public.

Citizens often complained about the lack of seating arrangements in the area and many passengers who have to wait to board private buses in the morning and at night had not resting place. Considering this, the corporation is constructing a park-like area along with a Jagalikatte where people can spend time.

Lokesh, Chief Engineer of BBMP.

“The Jagalikatte is being built under the beautification plan for the city. If we widen the road, there will be other issues like unnecessary vehicle parking, so we came up with this plan to help citizens. We observed that people did not have a proper place to sit or stand while they waited for buses to other cities. Now the beautification work is in progress and soon it will be open to the public,” said Lokesh, Chief Engineer of BBMP.
