BENGALURU: The dates for the historic Basavanagudi Kadalekai Parishe have been fixed. The fair will take place on November 17 and 18 this year, spanning two days.
The Kadalekai Parishe, held at the Sri Dodda Ganapati Temple, has a unique history. As with every year, this year’s event is set to be grand, while ensuring no untoward incidents occur.
A meeting, led by Transport Minister and Muzrai Department Minister Ramalinga Reddy, is scheduled for Thursday to discuss the arrangements for the Kadalekai Parishe. Local MLAs will attend the meeting, where decisions will be taken on collecting taxes from vendors and highlighting the event’s special features.
Farmers congregate at the Bull Temple each year to seek blessings for a good harvest. Heaps of different varieties and qualities of groundnuts can be seen in the area surrounding the Bull Temple, the Dodda Ganesha Shrine, and the Bugle Rock Park in Basavanagudi, one of Bengaluru’s oldest suburbs.
