BENGALURU: A man was hacked to death after purposefully colliding with his car on the national highway near Gangapura in Hoskote taluk late on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Bhargav (24), a resident of Kolar who was working as a recovery agent with a bank.
Bhargav was on his way to Bengaluru from Kolar when the unidentified attackers chased him from behind, got ahead of him and braked hard, resulting in Bhargav’s car colliding with their car from the rear.
They then picked a fight and hacked Bhargav to death with swords and machetes, police said. The Nandagudi police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
In a separate incident, a motorcycle rider died after he came under the rear wheel of a concrete mixer truck near APC Circle in Jigani on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Kalaiselva Shivaraj (55), a resident of DLF apartment.
Shivaraj had gone to a chemist store and was returning home when the accident occurred. The Jigani police arrested the concrete mixer driver Duraimurugan and have registered a case.
