BENGALURU: The Bangalore University is considering banning public vehicles from its campus due to numerous problems caused by a large number of vehicles plying within the campus.

The university has proposed this ban to the government, and if approved, it may lead to the closure of the university gates to vehicular traffic.

The reasons cited for this decision include:

  • Thousands of vehicles plying within the campus daily, disrupting academic activities.
  • Frequent accidents caused by public vehicles.
  • Difficulty for students to move around the campus due to heavy vehicular traffic.
  • Noise pollution within the campus.
  • Congestion and chaos caused by the presence of vehicles and pedestrians.

The university hopes that by banning movement of public vehicles, it can create a more conducive environment for academic activities and reduce the risks associated with vehicular traffic.
