CHAMARAJANAGAR: The Bandipur tiger reserve has been adjudged as the second best in the country among the 54 that were surveyed. The Nagarhole tiger reserve was adjudged the third best.
The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), Wildlife Institute of India and the Union Ministry of Forests and Environment conducted a survey based on which the rankings were done. Bandipur has bagged the second spot for the second time in a row.
The Periyar tiger reserve in Kerala has been adjudged the best while Nagarhole bagged the third spot in the rankings. The survey took into account factors like wildlife conservation, reduction of man-animal conflict, tourist inflow, cleanliness and staff training.
