Banashankari temple cook performs nagin dance, management issues notice

BENGALURU: A cook at the famous Banashankari temple in the city has got into trouble after a video of him performing nagin dance in the temple kitchen on Friday, went viral on social media. The temple management has since issued a notice to him.

The cook, C R Muralidharan, allegedly danced to the nagin song on the temple premises. A complaint was filed with tahsildar of the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department, and the viral video was sent to the department through Whatsapp.

In the viral video, the cook can be seen dancing in the temple kitchen while others recorded the video.

Cook Murulidharan has been issued a notice by Muzrai department.

Following the complaint, the tahsildar of the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department has asked for a detailed report on the viral video from the temple management committee.

Tahsildar Aravind Babu said disciplinary action will be taken after receiving the report.

Tahsildar Aravind Babu said, “No one should misbehave on the temple premises. I have already issued a notice to the temple management and asked for a report on this. There are rules for the temple, but the cook violated the rules. Cooks in the temple, which comes under Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments department, are equal to government employees. They should be role model for others. The incident has been brought to the notice of Deputy Commissioner. We will take disciplinary action against him once we receive the report”, he said.
