Bakery owner, wife attacked for refusing cigarettes, tea in Kengeri

BENGALURU: A bakery owner and his wife were attacked by rowdies for denying them cigarrettes and tea and for questioning them about their previous dues at Kengeri Satellite Town on Thursday.

Shivakumar, the bakery owner, was brutally attacked for not giving tea and cigarettes on loan. The gang physically assaulted him badly, and hearing his scream, his wife and children came out. But they too were brutally attacked by the rowdies. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

The brutal attack on the bakery owner and his wife was captured on CCTV camera in Kengeri on Tuesday.

Shivakumar, hailing from Ramanagara, had established a small bakery in Kengeri Satellite Town. Rowdy Salman Tipu used to come there regularly for tea and cigarettes. On Tuesday, the bakery owner refused to give tea and cigarettes as he already owed Rs 1,o00. Salman was enraged by this and threatened to kill him, and also verbally abused him.

In the evening, a gang of four men arrived in a car and brutally attacked Shivakumar, his wife, and their son then fled the spot. An FIR has been registered at Kengeri the police station and further investigation is under way.
