BENGALURU: A young jilted lover allegedly murdered a 20-year-old B Pharmacy female student after she refused his proposal and escaped by throwing away the mobile phone he was using near the railway tracks behind Mantri Mall in Malleswaram, Bengaluru.
The accused, Vignesh, killed Yamini Priya by slitting her throat and stabbed her multiple times in the face with a knife after she rejected his marriage proposal.
The police investigation revealed that Vignesh had created a WhatsApp group called “Mission Yamini Priya” to plan the crime and gather information about her movements and interactions.
Vignesh had previously harassed Yamini, and she had filed a complaint against him, leading to a warning from the police. The rejection led to the brutal attack, and Vignesh was arrested along with his friend Harish, who allegedly helped him flee the crime scene.
It is said that he had also forcibly tied a knot with the deceased girl. He had allegedly threatened to kill her if she told this matter at home. Two more people, who were from the same area, had asked her parents for a girl, but they had refused. Later, it was learned during the investigation that Yamini’s parents had lodged a complaint against him when they had a quarrel with him.
It was suspected that the accused Vignesh had fled to Tamil Nadu after the murder. Two separate teams were formed to search for the accused, and the accused has now been arrested.
