BENGALURU: The Jayanagar police have arrested an autorickshaw driver who was posing as a policeman and harassing youths. The arrested was identified as Asif.
The accused would target couples in parks and extort money from them while posing to be a policeman. He had fleeced a 12 gm gold chain, a 5 gm ring from two people and had even forced them to withdraw Rs 10,000 from an ATM.
The police suspect that Asif may be involved in more such cases of extortion and have taken up further investigation.
