BENGALURU: Amid people often criticising the behaviour of autorickshaw drivers in the city over booking cancellations and high charges, a driver’s message on women’s safety pasted inside his vehicle has drawn much attention and has gone viral on social media while earning widespread praise.

The message read, I’m a father/ brother too. Your safety matters. Sit back comfortably”. The message in his autorickshaw was to reassure female passengers of their safety.

Seeing the encouraging message, a woman who was travelling at midnight recorded a video of the note and the driver and shared it online with the caption ‘Peak Bangalore Moment’. The clip quickly spread and netizens flooded the post appreciating the driver.

The Bengaluru City Police, having taken note of the driver’s initiative, posted the video on the official Bengaluru City Police Facebook page and X handle, with the line “A small message… A big gesture…!” “A big shout‑out for him! Help us reach him! If you have any information, please reach out”.
