BENGALURU: Two people, including an autorickshaw driver and a passenger, died after the vehicle was crushed between two BMTC buses. The accident took place near Seetha Circle under the jurisdiction of the Banashankari traffic police station.
The victims have been identified as Dr Vishnu (80), a doctor, and Anil Kumar, the autorickshaw driver. The autorickshaw was completely mangled due to the impact of the accident.
Dr Vishnu had celebrated his birthday on Thursday, and his son had returned from abroad for the occasion. However, the son had left for abroad again on Thursday, unaware of his father’s fate.
The accident occurred when the autorickshaw was hit by a BMTC bus (KA-57-E-9574) from the Indiranagar depot. The bus driver had been driving erratically, hitting the autorickshaw from behind. Both Dr Vishnu and Anil Kumar died on the spot. The incident is being investigated by the Bansahankari Traffic Police.
