BENGALURU: An autorickshaw driver died after a tree fell on his auto while he was driving on the road from Victoria Hospital to KIMS Hospital on Friday night. He was taken to Gayatri Hospital and then to Victoria Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead early on Saturday . The deceased has been identified as Shivarudraiah.
The deceased’s wife Gowramma said that her husband had gone out on hire at 5 pm yesterday and was supposed to return at 6 pm for puja. However, he did not return, and she received a call at 7 pm saying that he had been admitted to Gayatri Hospital after a tree fell on his auto. Due to alleged lack of proper treatment at Gayatri Hospital, he was shifted to Victoria Hospital where he died.
Gowramma alleged that there was a delay in the arrival of the ambulance, and even after reaching Victoria Hospital, her husband was made to wait outside for a bed. He was then taken to KIMS Hospital, where he died on the way.
The police allegedly suggested to the family not to file a complaint, saying it would cause unnecessary trouble. However, an FIR has been registered at the Govindarajanagar police station.
